About the role

This Darwin-based position is responsible for managing payroll end to end across multiple entities within the DCOH Group. The role requires accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery, along with reporting and insights that support workforce and business decisions.

What you will bring

  • At least 2-3+ years of experience in a busy payroll role, preferably covering multiple entities or business units.
  • A solid grasp of payroll laws, modern awards, enterprise agreements, and compliance obligations.
  • Hands-on experience with end-to-end payroll processing, reconciliations, and payroll reporting.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability to review payroll information and spot patterns or issues.
  • Careful attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Good organisation and time management skills, with the ability to meet tight payroll deadlines.
  • Clear professional communication skills for dealing with employees, managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Experience with payroll, time and attendance, and finance systems, including HumanForce or a similar platform.
  • Confidence contributing to process improvements, system enhancements, and payroll governance activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Run payroll end to end for all Group entities and ensure wages are paid accurately and on time.
  • Handle payroll events such as new hires, exits, timesheets, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.
  • Work out termination pay, prepare Separation Certificates, and manage payroll tasks related to employee exits.
  • Keep employee payroll records current, including tax details, banking information, and supporting documentation.
  • Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger entries.
  • Oversee payroll cash processing tasks such as ABA file creation, banking uploads, and intercompany transactions.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related statutory reporting, including PAYG, IAS, superannuation, and workers compensation.
  • Support year-end payroll activities such as reconciliations, leave provision calculations, STP finalisation, and audit preparation.
  • Produce payroll, labour cost, and headcount reports for Finance, HR, and business leadership.
  • Provide payroll information and analysis to assist workforce planning, budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions.
  • Maintain payroll and HumanForce systems, including testing, upgrades, integrations, and data quality checks.
  • Look for ways to improve payroll workflows, reporting, efficiency, and automation.
  • Keep payroll procedures and documentation accurate and up to date to support compliance and knowledge sharing.
  • Serve as the first contact for payroll questions from employees and managers.
  • Work closely with Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure payroll information flows correctly.
  • Represent DCOH professionally and ethically while supporting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
