General Manager - Finance and Accounts

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Chief Finance Officer to spearhead the financial management of a multi-site growing enterprise in Zambia. Positioned as a key player reporting directly to the CEO, the individual will manage the entire finance and accounting operations while contributing strategically towards budgeting, auditing, banking, and delivering financial reports to senior leadership and the Board of Directors.

Key Duties

• Oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, payroll, and monthly reconciliations with emphasis on accuracy and robust internal controls.
• Manage cash flow by projecting based on current balances, receivables, credit facilities, and operational plans.
• Lead the annual budgeting cycle, providing various financial scenarios and insights to management and the Board.
• Coordinate the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to IAS and ZICA accounting standards.
• Act as the main contact point for banking and lending institutions fostering strong relationships.
• Prepare timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and oversee tax return filing.

Professional Profile

• Possess over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles.
• Demonstrated experience managing ICT functions.
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams, offering mentorship and support to commercial, marketing, and communications departments.
• Experience working in large scale, multi-site, multinational organizations with a positive impact on budgeting and business growth.
