Role overview
Ryman Healthcare is looking for a full-time Gardener to join the supportive team at Shona McFarlane Retirement Village in Avalon, Lower Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. The role is based onsite and follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
What the role involves
- Helping maintain attractive gardens and outdoor spaces within a resort-style village environment for residents, families, and staff to enjoy.
- Looking after grounds and garden areas to keep them visually appealing and safe for everyone who uses them.
- Working across a varied landscape that includes a bowling green, water features, residential spaces, and shared areas.
- Cooperating closely with teammates and supporting colleagues as needed.
What you should bring
- Hands-on experience in a gardening or landscaping position.
- Strong troubleshooting ability and a careful eye for detail.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- A dependable, approachable, and professional attitude.
- Horticultural training or qualifications are an advantage.
Eligibility
This position is open to applicants who have the legal right to work in New Zealand. While overseas applicants may be considered in some cases, the role requires New Zealand work rights because of immigration requirements.
