Position Overview

As a Front End Specialist, you will provide expert support to the Regional Process Support Group by overseeing installations, audits, troubleshooting, best practice implementation, innovation, cost-saving initiatives, and maintenance of Front End equipment such as Body Makers and Trimmers across BPEMEA & Asia facilities. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert and key technical contact for Front End equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for projects and equipment overhauls as needed.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports following site visits to management.
• Manage maintenance, audits, setup, and problem solving for Bodymakers and Trimmers.
• Conduct training sessions for both plant and central personnel at varying skill levels.
• Support plants with investment requests based on technical assessments.
• Coordinate with equipment suppliers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
• Develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to promote effective process equipment usage.
• Highlight essential skills among plants and ensure follow-through on recommended improvements.
• Maintain strong relationships with plant teams and suppliers.
• Create and deliver technical training programs for new and existing plants.
• Be reachable for emergency breakdown support on short notice.

Candidate Profile

• Diploma in ONC or a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 5 years of practical engineering experience with various Body Maker equipment.
• Capable of managing small teams or projects.
• Comprehensive technical understanding of Front End operations in two-piece can manufacturing plants.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Willing and able to travel frequently at short notice and work on weekends if necessary.
• Possesses a valid full driving license.
• Strong team collaboration skills.
• Proficient in both written and spoken English.

Work Environment

This is a remote position with approximately 80% travel required.

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting salary from 66,400 EUR gross per month, variable based on qualifications, experience, and market standards. Note: salary basis provided for Austria-based candidates; other locations will receive specifics during recruitment.
• Eligibility for Ball’s annual incentive compensation program.
