Food Services Supervisor

Position Overview

The Food Services Supervisor role involves coordinating team efforts to deliver excellent guest services, ensuring staff appearance standards, managing opening and closing routines, maintaining inventory and storage organization, and overseeing dining room operations for safety and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate staff teamwork to achieve optimal service and meet guest needs.
• Inspect and maintain staff grooming and attire standards.
• Perform opening and closing tasks including setting up supplies, cleaning equipment and areas, and securing premises.
• Organize storage areas ensuring cleanliness and proper stock rotation using FIFO methodology.
• Conduct scheduled inventory and manage stock requisitions.
• Monitor dining areas for seating availability, service quality, and guest well-being.
• Initiate work orders for required maintenance repairs.
• Support management with employee hiring, training, scheduling, evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching.
• Serve as a role model and primary contact for fair treatment and open-door policy processes.
• Comply with all company, safety, and security protocols; report incidents and complete required training.
• Maintain professional appearance and safeguard company assets and confidential information.
• Greet guests warmly, anticipate service needs, assist guests with disabilities, and express genuine appreciation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers and guests.
• Build positive workplace relationships and collaborate towards shared objectives.
• Ensure quality standards are met and suggest improvements for efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost savings.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and navigating confined or elevated spaces as needed.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Work Experience: At least 2 years in a related role.
• Supervisory Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience managing staff.
• Certifications: No license or certification required.
