Role Summary

As a Food and Beverage Associate (Barista), you will ensure superior guest satisfaction by delivering high-quality food and beverage service within a lively, fast-paced environment. You will maintain cleanliness, uphold hygiene and safety regulations, and contribute to revenue growth through effective upselling and guest engagement, all while embodying our core values of professionalism, teamwork, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome guests warmly and professionally, personalizing their dining experience and properly setting tables.
  • Attentively address guest requests and provide culturally considerate service throughout their visit.
  • Promote beverage choices and complementary items effectively before and after meals aligned with company promotions.
  • Accurately communicate food orders to the kitchen following proper sequence to ensure timely service.
  • Offer expert menu guidance tailored to guests' tastes and contemporary dining trends.
  • Resolve guest complaints courteously, using established recovery procedures for successful outcomes.
  • Manage cash registers proficiently, ensuring precise transactions and reconciliations.
  • Execute opening and closing duties with attention to cleanliness and readiness of the outlet.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards including restocking, sanitizing, and floor care.
  • Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies, including HACCP and emergency protocols.
  • Complete mandatory food safety trainings and obtain required certifications annually.
  • Coordinate with warehouse staff for inventory restocking and stock control.
  • Use in-depth product knowledge to encourage product trial and increase sales.
  • Manage waitlists and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover.
  • Contribute to departmental goals related to customer satisfaction and sales performance.
  • Analyze point-of-sale data to enhance upselling opportunities.
  • Assist with ancillary duties such as shelf stocking, cleaning, and event support.
  • Implement marketing and loyalty initiatives to boost guest engagement and sales.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth service and cover peak times.
  • Engage guests personally to build rapport and provide tailored service.
  • Participate in ongoing team training, evaluations, and development activities.
  • Maintain professional appearance, conduct, and compliance with dress codes.
  • Participate in emergency drills and manage lost & found incidents according to company guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in food and beverage service, preferably within hospitality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with enthusiasm for customer service.
  • Strong focus on detail regarding food hygiene, safety, and financial accuracy.
  • Ability to function effectively within a team with a proactive service-oriented approach.
  • Experience operating POS and handling cash accurately.
  • Skilled in suggestive selling and menu-driven sales techniques.
  • Dedication to uphold company values, standards, and operating procedures consistently.
  • Capability to stand and work for extended periods in a dynamic environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or related discipline is advantageous.
  • Experience with upscale service settings such as 4- or 5-star hotels, banquets, or luxury dining preferred.
  • A minimum of two years’ cumulative experience in food and beverage roles is desirable.
  • Additional certifications in food safety beyond basic training are a plus.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English languages for effective guest communication.
  • Experience with banquet service or formal table setups valued.
  • Participation in upscale events or corporate catering enhances candidacy.
