About the role

Rex Airlines (Regional Express) is a major independent regional airline in Australia, operating Saab 340 aircraft across 49 destinations and connecting metropolitan and regional communities. Based in Wagga Wagga, NSW, the airline is hiring full-time solo flight attendants to join its cabin crew team.

Rex is recognised for warm, genuine onboard service, and this position is suited to people who can manage a cabin independently while keeping passengers safe, comfortable, and well looked after throughout the journey.

What the job involves

This is a solo cabin role, so you will be responsible for the full cabin environment on your own. The work requires a strong focus on safety, calm decision-making, and consistently high-quality customer service. You will be travelling to a range of destinations, including some of Australia’s more distinctive locations.

The position offers a strong work/life balance and competitive pay, but it also includes weekends, public holidays, shift-based schedules, early starts, late finishes, and occasional nights away from home.

Typical duties include pre-flight equipment and security checks, making onboard announcements, serving food and beverages, carrying out cleaning tasks, and managing different situations that may arise in the cabin.

The ideal candidate will be independent, self-sufficient, service-oriented, and highly attentive to detail. You should be comfortable working alone, while still delivering a caring and personalised passenger experience.

Training and experience

Full training will be provided, so previous flying experience is not necessary.

Requirements

You must meet all of the following conditions:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
• Be no taller than 173 cm.
• Hold a current Provide First Aid certificate (HLTAID011).
• Hold a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate completed within the last 3 years.
• Meet one of the English/education/work history options: at least 3 years of secondary education completed in Australia or New Zealand; or at least 3 of the last 5 years worked in Australia or New Zealand; or at least 3 of the last 5 years worked in the UK, Ireland, or USA; or an IELTS overall score of 5.5.
• Be able to obtain and hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), including a police security check.
• Be able to swim fully clothed without assistance or a flotation aid, as a swim assessment is part of the process.
• Be flexible and adaptable, including availability during holidays and peak travel periods.
• Maintain a high standard of personal grooming and presentation.
• Show a genuine desire to help people and deliver consistently excellent service.
