Job Overview
The primary responsibility involves handling the removal, templating, fitting, and reinstallation of pipes onboard vessels. Tasks include conducting hotwork activities such as grinding, gas cutting, and drilling, along with performing pressure tests on spools or systems when necessary. Additional duties are assigned by the Head of Department.
Key Duties
- Ensure pipe fit-ups are precise by maintaining correct edge preparations and root pass gaps.
- Work collaboratively as a team member, fostering unity among peers.
- Adhere strictly to all personal and team safety protocols.
- Report any faults or defects found in tools and equipment promptly to supervisors.
- Consistently uphold cleanliness and safety standards both onboard vessels and within the workshop.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, preferably within marine or maritime sectors.
- Proficient communication abilities.
- Solid understanding of pipe fittings and welding techniques.
- Capable of suggesting practical solutions or alternatives during tasks.
- Skilled in problem identification and corrective action implementation.
Education
Relevant qualification from other fields or engineering disciplines.
