Finance Manager & Business Controller

About the Role

Rentify, a fast-growing fintech proptech company based in Dubai, is seeking an experienced Finance Manager & Business Controller to lead and develop their finance operations. This full-time, onsite position offers a chance to shape the finance function during a significant growth phase, working closely with founders and the leadership team to integrate finance with product, operations, and investor relations.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company cash balances, monitor burn rates, and manage runway projections with a rolling 13-week cash flow forecast.
• Lead the annual and monthly budgeting cycles, tracking actual financial performance against budgets and managing payment schedules including payroll and approvals.
• Reconcile customer transactions, payment gateways, bank receipts, landlord settlements, refunds, failed payments, and reversals, ensuring precise linkage to customers, landlords, and commercial agreements.
• Develop exception reports for daily and weekly transaction anomalies and strengthen financial controls as transaction volumes increase.
• Construct financial models for Rentify's products, monitor transaction values, revenues, direct costs, and contribution margins to support pricing, commercial decisions, and partner economics evaluation.
• Coordinate monthly financial closing with external accountants, prepare monthly management and founder reporting, and maintain dashboards for revenue, gross margin, burn rate, runway, and customer concentration.
• Manage relationships with external accounting, tax, and audit partners to ensure statutory compliance, timely filings, and accurate financial documentation.
• Implement and improve accounting policies, finance systems, and processes that scale with company growth.

Ideal Background and Experience

Candidate profiles are sought primarily from transaction-heavy, fintech, payments, embedded finance, marketplaces, proptech, SaaS, or digital banking sectors. Experience in evolving finance functions from early-stage founder-managed to structured teams is particularly valued. The role is unsuitable for candidates limited to traditional bookkeeping, audit, or corporate finance without direct transaction or product economics exposure.

Candidate Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, financial control, or commercial finance.
• Relevant industry experience in fintech, payments, lending, SaaS, marketplaces, proptech, or comparable transaction-centric businesses.
• Expertise in accounting principles, cash flow management, and strong financial controls.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to build detailed financial models and management reporting dashboards.
• Experience with reconciling payment gateways, bank statements, and transaction data.
• Strong analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with incomplete or evolving information and communicate clearly with founders, operational teams, and partners.
• A proactive, ownership-driven work approach with comfort handling both detailed reconciliations and strategic financial analyses.
