About the company
Watchmen is a cybersecurity group focused on cloud and network security, with a core specialization in Zero Trust technology. The company is based in Singapore and also has established operations in the Netherlands and Belgium, while expanding across the DACH region and the Asia-Pacific market. It is a compact, fast-paced organization where this role works closely with the CEO and carries real ownership.
Role overview
The company is hiring its first in-house Finance Executive in Singapore to manage everyday group finance administration. This person will serve as the main coordination point between Singapore operations, external accountants in Europe, and local Singapore tax and accounting advisors at BDO. The role is broad and hands-on, ideal for someone who wants to be the main finance contact in a small international business, maintain accurate records, stay on top of deadlines, and help build the finance function as the group scales.
Key responsibilities
- Keep the books current and accurate for the two Singapore entities in Xero, while working with and reviewing the outsourced accountant’s output.
- Carry out routine bank reconciliations and ensure ledgers remain tidy and ready for audit.
- Handle supplier invoices and employee expense claims, then prepare payment runs for CEO approval.
- Create customer invoices, track receivables, and follow up on outstanding payments across the group.
- Coordinate Singapore payroll with the payroll provider and BDO, ensuring CPF, SDL, IR8A, and other statutory requirements are completed accurately and on time.
- Collect and share payroll inputs for the Netherlands and Belgium entities with their local providers.
- Act as the primary liaison with Singapore advisors and the accountants in the Netherlands and Belgium, and provide information needed for statutory filings such as corporate tax, GST/BTW/VAT, and annual accounts.
- Help ensure Singapore GST and corporate tax filings are completed on time, and support information requests for Netherlands and Belgium filings.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and cash flow tracking, and assist with basic consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting across multiple entities.
- Support finance-related projects requested by the CEO or advisors, including investor reporting and group restructuring data collection.
- Maintain organized financial records, assist with audits, and uphold internal controls such as segregation of duties and approval workflows.
- Manage all financial information with a high level of confidentiality.
Candidate profile
- Diploma or degree in Accountancy or Finance, or ACCA part-qualified status or an equivalent qualification.
- Approximately 1 to 4 years of experience in finance or accounting, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or partial/full-set accounts.
- Practical experience using Xero or another cloud-based accounting platform such as QuickBooks.
- Working understanding of Singapore compliance basics, including GST, CPF, and IRAS filing concepts.
- Strong Excel ability, careful attention to detail, and the judgment to handle confidential information appropriately.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Must already be eligible to work in Singapore without employer sponsorship.
- Willingness and motivation to learn quickly and take on new responsibilities.
Compensation and benefits
- Monthly pay of S$2,800 to S$5,000, based on experience.
- Annual Wage Supplement, equivalent to a 13th-month payment.
- Corporate health insurance through Raffles Medical.
- Flexible or hybrid working arrangement, with access to a co-working space if needed.
- Dynamic working environment with direct exposure to senior leadership.
- Opportunity to report directly to the CEO and help create the company’s in-house finance function.
- Exposure to an international business operating across Singapore, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
- Annual leave entitlement.
- CPF contributions.
