Role Purpose

The Fabricator role focuses on ensuring uninterrupted production by efficiently maintaining and repairing equipment, responding promptly to breakdowns, and applying continuous improvement practices to enhance operational performance safely.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to health and safety regulations and promptly report any hazards or risks to the Health & Safety Manager.
Complete all requested repair and improvement tasks, reporting progress to the assigned supervisory engineer.
Support the Engineering department in meeting budget goals through efficient use of materials and parts, following proper authorization procedures for ordering replacements.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout all factory areas, including the Engineering Fabrication workshop and related departments.
Ensure Hot Work Permits and Risk Assessments are correctly issued and closed after task completion.
Manage steel stores and consumables by keeping stock levels replenished.
Participate in routine Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks after training, alongside reactive maintenance work as part of the engineering team.
Perform various fabrication and repair activities including Welding (TIG, ARC, MIG), Cutting, Grinding, Metal Forming/Bending, Drilling, Tapping, and accurate measurements using mathematical skills including trigonometry.
Develop fabrication ideas and solutions, construct fabrication drawings, and share best practices to advance engineering functions.
Comply with all company policies and procedures.
