About Agricom

Located in Waikato, Agricom leads the industry in research, development, and marketing of a diverse array of proprietary forage crop and pasture seeds tailored for the agricultural sector. The firm focuses on advancing forage options and improving endophyte technology to boost farm profitability and adaptability.

Role Overview

We seek a dedicated Extension Agronomist for our Waikato team to enhance practical agronomy skills across various crop and pasture species. This role involves collaboration with the Agricom Agronomy team, local Territory Sales Managers, Product Development, and Technical Specialists to bolster the region's agronomy initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage forage trials and demonstration sites throughout the Upper North Island.
  • Deliver expert technical support to customers, aiding their understanding and application of Agricom products on farms.
  • Gather and analyze agronomic data to generate reports that aid product development and extension activities.
  • Engage in Research & Development breeding programs.
  • Create practical, on-farm forage programs for both new and existing products.
  • Assist marketing by converting trial outcomes and agronomic information into polished, market-ready technical documentation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Possess a degree in an agricultural-related field or hold equivalent relevant experience.
  • Have solid knowledge and genuine enthusiasm for agronomy.
  • Understand New Zealand farm systems and how Agricom's products can enhance farm value.
