About the role

Sandvik Mining is seeking a meticulous Estimator to join the workshop team in Kenwick, Western Australia. This is a permanent full-time opportunity where you will be responsible for pricing service, repair, and maintenance work while helping drive both customer satisfaction and business performance.

The position is mainly office-based, but it requires a practical, hands-on approach and regular interaction with workshop operations and sales teams. From time to time, you will also attend customer and supplier locations, including mine sites and industrial workplaces, so a strong focus on safety and PPE compliance is essential.

What you will do

  • Build thorough estimates for service and repair work, covering labour, materials, and outside services.
  • Work closely with workshop supervisors, technicians, and procurement staff to understand job scope and price work accurately.
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements and obtain competitive quotes.
  • Keep precise records of estimates, job outcomes, and any differences between estimated and actual costs.
  • Contribute to process improvements by enhancing estimating methods, tools, and workflows.

What we are looking for

You should bring either a trade background or a degree in engineering, or a closely related discipline. Prior estimating experience in a workshop, maintenance, or manufacturing environment is important, along with a solid understanding of workshop processes and how labour and material costs are structured.

Strong Excel capability and experience with ERP systems such as Maximo will be highly valued. You will also need excellent communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement skills, plus a safety-first mindset and awareness of applicable standards and compliance requirements.

Eligibility

Applicants must have the right to live and work in Australia. As part of the hiring process, successful candidates will also need to complete a pre-employment medical.

Benefits and rewards

  • Competitive pay package.
  • Salary sacrifice arrangements and recognition for length of service.
  • Paid parental leave and flexible work arrangements.
  • Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.
  • Employee referral rewards.
  • Performance-linked bonus incentives.
  • Recognition and reward initiatives tied to individual and business results.
