Estimation Supervisor - Civil Engineering

About the Role

The Estimation Supervisor will manage and direct the estimation team to ensure the delivery of precise and timely cost projections for construction projects. This role is pivotal in guiding the team to generate well-rounded and competitive bids that meet client demands and reinforce the company's profitability objectives. The successful candidate will bring a blend of technical know-how and leadership ability to coach the team, optimize estimation workflows, and support the growth of the company's project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and enforce estimation strategies, processes, and industry best practices to promote accuracy and efficiency.
• Supervise the creation and submission of detailed and punctual cost estimates for construction initiatives.
• Evaluate and authorize bid proposals to maintain competitiveness and compliance with client expectations.
• Collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders to thoroughly understand project scopes and prerequisites.
• Assess project data and past costs to guide future estimates and identify cost-reduction possibilities.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and influencing cost factors to improve estimation precision and market competitiveness.
• Coordinate with procurement and finance units to ensure estimates align with budgets and financial targets.
• Track and report on estimation team outcomes, pinpoint improvement areas, and identify training requirements.

Candidate Qualifications

• Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Possesses over 12 years of experience in estimation, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
• Experienced within the construction sector, specifically with EPC and contractor companies (excluding consultancy firms).
• Has prior working experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
• Currently employed in the Tendering/Estimation Department at a Head Office is essential.
• Demonstrates strong proficiency in English.
• Preferred experience with high-profile clients such as NEOM, Diriyah, RCRC, Qiddiyah, Royal Commission, Ministry of Transport, and Ministry of Defense.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Experience submitting main tenders as a Prime Contractor.
• Familiarity with submitting tenders valued at a minimum of SAR 100 million as a Prime Contractor.
• Competent in preparing detailed cost breakdowns, including assessments of productivity and man-hour calculations.
• Ability to compute indirect costs effectively.
• Knowledgeable in preparing and utilizing top sheets for tendering and estimation functions.
