Electronic Technician III

Job Overview

This role involves building, troubleshooting, and maintaining test and equipment within a specific workcell environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operating production test equipment and ensuring its regular calibration and maintenance.
• Diagnosing and repairing defective circuit boards utilizing diagnostic tools such as visual inspection, oscilloscopes, computer terminals, and diagnostic software.
• Documenting information accurately within computerized tracking systems and preparing detailed reports based on collected failure data.
• Training and supporting junior technicians and test operators to enhance skill levels.
• Adjusting and changing test fixtures and programming as per workcell requirements.
• Escalating unresolved test failure concerns to senior technicians and manufacturing supervisors.
• Conducting preventative maintenance and maintaining calibration logs for test equipment.
• Collaborating with manufacturing supervisors, engineers, and technicians to communicate issues related to board failures.
• Promoting continuous improvements in test yields, work in progress (WIP), test coverage, and reducing instances of no problem found (NPF).
• Managing inventory to ensure the availability of testing equipment and parts as needed.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• Strong ability to present information clearly and respond effectively to queries from various stakeholders including managers and customers.
• Capability to identify problems, gather and analyze data, and derive valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in operating personal computers, particularly using Windows operating systems and Jabil-specific software tools.
• Good written communication skills for simple correspondence and reading visual aids.
• Logical and common sense approach to perform basic multi-step instructions and handle standardized tasks with minimal variations.
• Mathematical ability to perform arithmetic operations and interpret graphs, rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Familiarity with schematic reading and diagnostic procedures to effectively assess circuit boards and components.
