Job Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Technician role involves performing maintenance operations on both safety-related and non-safety electrical systems within a nuclear power plant environment at Barakah. The key objective is to maintain high equipment reliability and operational performance through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and conducting surveillance tests.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute electrical maintenance tasks promptly and with quality to ensure the plant's operational readiness and maximum safety.
- Carry out both planned and corrective maintenance on various electrical systems, including the Nuclear Steam Supply System components like motors, reactor coolant pump motors, motor-operated valves, cranes, lighting, and Balance of Plant equipment such as transformers, gas insulated bus, switchgear, protective relays, generators, UPS, and MOVs.
- Prepare and organize maintenance work activities, including submitting procurement requests for spare parts and specialized tools to ensure proper resource availability for maintenance tasks.
- Participate actively in pre- and post-job briefings and supervise maintenance teams to align with standard procedures and quality expectations.
- Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance history to maintain accurate tracking of maintenance activities.
- Perform periodic surveillance testing to verify the functional integrity and performance of electrical systems on the plant.
- Maintain up-to-date equipment and material master data within the material management system to reflect current plant and warehouse inventory accurately.
- Adhere strictly to the Maintenance Code of Conduct and safety protocols to safeguard plant reliability and personnel safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues effectively to resolve problems accurately and in a timely manner.
Training and Qualification Responsibilities
- Implement and follow management expectations related to maintenance conduct.
- Provide constructive feedback on training program effectiveness to enhance staff qualification and performance.
Support During Outages and Emergencies
- Assist outage operations and Emergency Response Organization activities as assigned, which may involve shift work or off-hours assignments to support safe and reliable plant operations.
Operational Planning Contributions
- Offer input for developing and improving work instructions aimed at boosting productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of reports to meet departmental standards and requirements.

Qualifications
- Minimum: High School diploma with at least 2 years of relevant electrical maintenance experience.
- Preferred: Experience working in nuclear power plant maintenance.
