EHS Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for an EHS Engineer based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, supporting site-level health, safety, and environmental controls on a project environment. The role focuses on ensuring safe work execution, active risk management, and day-to-day compliance with project HSE requirements.

Site HSE Implementation

• Put project HSE plans, procedures, method statements, and risk assessments into practice on site.
• Verify daily adherence to Permit-to-Work, LOTO, working at height, lifting operations, electrical safety, and excavation requirements.
• Carry out regular site inspections, safety walks, and audits across all active work areas.
• Monitor high-risk operations such as piling and civil works, crane and heavy lifting activities, DC/AC electrical work, work at height involving trackers, modules, and inverters, as well as hot work and confined space tasks.
• Prepare and guide Job Safety Analysis and Task Risk Assessments.
• Spot unsafe actions and unsafe site conditions and ensure corrective measures are taken without delay.
• Follow up on NCRs, safety observations, and audit issues until they are fully closed.
• Take part in design-stage and construction-stage safety reviews.

Training, Awareness, and Safety Culture

• Conduct HSE induction sessions for site personnel and provide job-specific safety training for different trades.
• Deliver toolbox talks, coach supervisors, and support ongoing safety awareness campaigns.
• Encourage active worker participation, strengthen the safety culture, and promote reporting of near misses.
