Role Overview
The Development Platform Engineer plays a crucial role in collaborating with engineering teams to architect, build, and continuously improve the Internal Development Platform at Seequent. This platform is vital for maintaining agility and ensuring rapid, reliable releases of Seequent's Evo suite of applications and services. The role involves leveraging modern containerization and cloud technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud to build scalable, dependable, and reusable platform components. It acts as an enabler, allowing development teams to concentrate on adding business value without worrying about infrastructure management.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and enhance the Internal Development Platform to simplify complex infrastructure, enabling developers to deploy services efficiently and quickly.
- Develop new platform features using cutting-edge cloud technologies.
- Promote and implement extensible, reusable platform patterns, processes, and tools that empower engineering teams and reduce manual efforts.
- Incorporate artificial intelligence tools and models to boost platform productivity and effectiveness.
- Work closely with key stakeholders from Evo Development, Security, and Architecture teams to identify and prioritize platform features.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in build or infrastructure engineering roles.
- Proficient with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab.
- Practical experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code tools like Terraform.
- Exposure to major cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, and AWS.

- Ability to effectively communicate technical information with both peers and senior colleagues.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to develop and sustain constructive professional relationships.
