Role Overview

As a Designer in the Residential team, you will collaborate closely with fellow design professionals to develop appropriate architectural solutions addressing context, budgets, and aesthetic criteria. Interaction with multiple professional disciplines and active participation in design coordination through all project phases are key responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Gather and assess information from reports and relevant documentation to capture the comprehensive project requirements.
• Create architectural designs that achieve high-quality outcomes within project timelines and budget constraints.
• Coordinate design intent effectively with other disciplines involved in the project.
• Incorporate engineering, site surveys, and field reviews while complying with applicable building codes and jurisdictional regulations.
• Prepare detailed design reports, drawings, and models adhering to firm standards.
• Conduct site visits to verify compliance with construction documents, identify discrepancies, and engage with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly.
• Evaluate project materials, services, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with project documentation, jurisdictional codes, and internal quality standards.

Requirements and Experience

• Proven experience throughout all phases of project cycles is essential.
• Proficiency with architectural design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and other related tools.
• Knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) and structural building systems alongside understanding of building codes.
• Completion of a relevant post-secondary educational program.
• Registration with a professional architectural association is considered beneficial.
• Between 7 to 10 years of professional project experience.
• Experience specifically with residential projects will be advantageous.

Salary and Additional Information

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 to $105,000.
