Job description
Role Summary
The Design and Development Engineer will act as a crucial link between conceptualization and manufacturing, tasked with creating efficient and cost-effective fluid processing equipment. They will collaborate closely with teams and clients to manage the entire design process, ensuring mechanical components and vessels comply with industry standards and project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and develop fluid processing machinery, valves, and vessels including detailed 3D modeling and technical drawings using CAD software.
- Conduct engineering calculations to verify structural soundness, optimize vessel dimensions, and precisely determine component weights considering different mechanical configurations.
- Build prototypes and perform stress, flow, and performance testing to confirm adherence to design objectives, revising designs as necessary based on test outcomes.
- Work alongside manufacturing teams to maintain design integrity during fabrication and resolve any mechanical or assembly issues on production floors.
- Engage clients to assess plant-specific needs such as capacity and pipeline layout, delivering tailored engineering solutions.
- Create and update comprehensive documentation including Bills of Materials, quality assurance plans, and operational manuals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related technical area.
- Demonstrated experience in industrial design engineering related to pumps, fluid systems, or heavy mechanical components.
- Proficient in industry-standard CAD tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD for 3D modeling and technical drafting.
- Well-versed in manufacturing methods, material selection specific to sanitary and industrial fluid applications, and mechanical assemblies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to manage project timelines from design phase to production.
