Data Annotation Specialist

Role Overview

This is a remote contract opportunity for a Data Annotation Generalist focused on preparing high-quality datasets for machine learning use cases. The role pays $20 per hour and is expected to involve 10 to 40 hours of work each week.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply labels, categories, and annotations to a variety of datasets with a high level of consistency and accuracy.
• Check existing annotations, verify their correctness, and make fixes where needed to preserve data quality.
• Work closely with the client’s team to understand task requirements and clear up any unclear instructions.
• Keep written records of annotation methods and decisions so the project remains transparent and easy to track.
• Share suggestions that can improve annotation tools, workflows, and guidance documents.
• Adjust quickly to different annotation projects, data formats, and changing task instructions.

Requirements

• Prior hands-on experience in data annotation, data labeling, or preparing datasets for machine learning work.
• Very strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on accuracy and quality.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to collaborate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to understand complicated instructions and apply them reliably across large volumes of data.
• Familiarity with annotation tools or platforms commonly used in AI or data science workflows.
