Position Summary

The Data Analytics Engineer will architect, construct, and maintain RugsUSA's enterprise data warehouse and business intelligence systems. Collaborating tightly with business units and cross-functional teams, this role creates scalable data models, pipelines, and dashboards using the Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, and Sigma technologies to deliver trustworthy data and actionable intelligence. The position ensures platform stability, data quality, and self-service analytics capabilities organization-wide.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and support enterprise data warehouse and BI tools including Fivetran > Snowflake > dbt > Sigma stack to empower data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and translate functional and technical requirements into effective reporting solutions.
• Deliver high-quality, efficient data models and visualizations tailored to cross-functional business needs.
• Partner with Enterprise Data Analysts and Data Governance teams to define, develop, and implement data warehouse solutions.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy backend and frontend data structures supporting visualization and reporting requirements.
• Create dashboards aligning with wireframe designs, integrating backend models, and managing data flows to meet business goals.
• Conduct data transformations using ELT tools; build dimension views and fact tables forming the foundation for reporting.
• Maintain development standards aligned with organizational best practices.
• Manage full data warehouse lifecycle: from requirements gathering, transformation coding, dashboard/report creation to ongoing support.
• Troubleshoot data variances collaboratively with stakeholders.
• Ensure continuous monitoring and support of data warehouse and marts daily.
• Coordinate change management and optimize performance, processes, and data access for reporting solutions.
• Document development work for knowledge transfer and peer reference.
• Promote and educate business users in adopting self-service reporting models.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related technical field.
• At least 2 years of progressive experience in software engineering roles.
• Proven expertise supporting and developing with Snowflake, Sigma, Fivetran, and dbt platforms ensuring performance and accessibility of reporting.
• Hands-on experience with dbt for data orchestration and Snowflake Virtual Warehouse and data modeling.
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes for data warehousing and BI solutions.
• Skilled in technical design of data models supporting enterprise analytics through Snowflake and Sigma.
• Experience creating analytical queries and visualizations using Sigma platform.
• Knowledge of retail or e-commerce data analytics, reporting, or BI is a plus.
• Understanding of data governance including quality standards, access controls, and metadata management in Snowflake environments.
• Ability to build and maintain semantic layers like Sigma workbooks/models and dbt metrics layers for governed self-service reporting.
• Familiarity with Fivetran High Volume Replication for data ingestion.
• Strong command of data warehouse concepts including dimensional modeling, ELT workflows, and cloud architectures in Snowflake.
• Proficiency in SQL and data transformation techniques.

Compensation

The annual salary for this role ranges between 110000 and 120000 USD based in the Manhattan office in New York.
