Data Analyst

Position Overview

CGI Federal invites applications for a Data Analyst role based in Arlington, VA. This role focuses on gathering, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing data to aid client decisions and enhance operational processes. The analyst will work closely with stakeholders to convert business inquiries into analytical frameworks and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, cleanse, and validate data from diverse sources ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
• Conduct exploratory data analyses to detect trends, irregularities, and patterns.
• Create dashboards, scorecards, and routine reports tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Interpret stakeholder requirements into analytical specifications and formalized business rules.
• Communicate insights and suggestions clearly through both written reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects to maintain consistent data definitions, lineage, and reporting standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, or related disciplines.
• Between 0 to 4 years experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence roles.
• Strong command of SQL for querying and validating datasets.
• Experience with data visualization/reporting platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or equivalents.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively relay technical findings to audiences without technical backgrounds.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modeling techniques.
• Experience programming in Python or R for data analysis and automation.
• Knowledge of statistical methodologies including hypothesis testing and regression analysis, alongside KPI development.
• Prior exposure to supporting federal or government clients is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated salary range in the U.S. is $51,600 to $121,100 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
