About the Team
Truework, now part of Checkr, provides access to employment and income information used for mortgage applications, apartment rentals, background checks, and similar needs. The business is focused on improving a large legacy-driven industry through a stronger product and close customer attention. Truework functions independently within Checkr, combining the speed of a startup with the resources of a larger organization.
Role Summary
The Customer Support Specialist will be a key member of the Truework support team, helping ensure customers receive timely, clear, and empathetic help across multiple communication channels. This role is centered on resolving issues with professionalism, precision, and care while reinforcing the company’s focus on trust, safety, and transparency.
What You Will Do
- Support customers through phone, email, and chat with a consistently professional, empathetic, and easy-to-understand approach.
- Investigate and resolve technical and process-related problems, escalating cases when needed.
- Manage a large number of incoming requests while staying organized, accurate, and responsive.
- Reach out proactively and follow up thoughtfully to reduce repeat issues and improve the overall customer experience.
- Help strengthen support documentation and internal processes by spotting trends and recurring customer pain points.
- Work closely with product, operations, and engineering partners to share feedback and improve the end-to-end customer journey.
What You Need
- At least 1 year of customer support experience in a fast-paced, high-volume setting such as a contact center, SaaS company, or startup.
- Strong spoken and written communication skills, along with active listening and solid reading comprehension.
- Ability to diagnose software and hardware issues using different tools and systems.
- Comfort working across multiple platforms at the same time without losing accuracy.
- Strong resilience, self-direction, and a commitment to learning and improving continuously.
- A results-driven mindset with urgency, accountability, and the ability to stay effective in ambiguous situations.
Compensation
The disclosed on-target earnings or base salary range for Nashville, TN is $16.83 to $21.16 USD per hour. Pay may vary by location based on local labor market conditions.

Work Arrangement
