Customer Delivery Driver/Picker

Role Overview

This position involves a 40-hour workweek across any five days within six, including bank holidays. You will deliver frozen meals from Wiltshire Farm Foods to customers, ensuring excellent service regardless of weather. The role also includes working in a cold storage environment at -20ºC, with provided protective clothing and breaks to warm up.

Collaboration is key; you will support the wider team including the office and picking departments, enjoy diverse tasks, and contribute to the business's overall success. Key Responsibilities

• Deliver frozen Wiltshire Farm Foods meals promptly to customers’ locations.
• Pick orders within the coldstore environment.
• Use a mobile app to update customers about deliveries.
• Provide excellent customer service consistently.
• Perform pre-shift vehicle inspections.
• Operate the delivery van safely, responsibly, and in compliance with legal requirements.
• Maintain van cleanliness and refuel as needed.
• Report any delivery discrepancies or delays to the office.
• Protect customer confidentiality at all times.
• Assist office and order picking teams as necessary.
• Report any health and safety concerns, stock quality issues, or vehicle mechanical problems.
• Cover for absent team members during holidays or sickness.
• Participate in local marketing such as leaflet distribution and visits to sheltered housing to attract new customers.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Experience in a customer service-oriented role.
• Possession of a full UK manual driving licence held for at least two years.
• Basic computer skills including use of smartphone apps.
• Evidence of consistent work history.
• Basic secondary education completed.

Preferable Experience

• Previous experience in multi-drop delivery roles.
• Experience in care-related positions.
• Familiarity with warehouse work.
• Awareness of health and safety protocols.

Additional Employment Conditions

The role requires passing a driving assessment, licence verification, and a basic DBS check due to work involving vulnerable elderly clients. This occupation is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and candidates must comply with current DBS disclosure guidelines.
