Creative Technologist / Product Designer (Public Sector)

Role overview

This position is a 1-year contract that may be renewed. It supports a government project and follows a hybrid work arrangement in Singapore.

What you will do

• Create internal utilities and small-scale products that support the GovTech design community, including process improvements, information-sharing tools, and program rollout solutions.
• Move from an idea or assumption to a working, useful product at speed.
• Build with an AI-first mindset, using agentic coding tools as a central part of the development process and exploring their full capabilities.
• Take responsibility for the tools you create, including maintaining them until they outgrow the small-tool stage and can be passed on for broader scaling.
• Collaborate closely with designers to understand their needs and deliver tools that genuinely improve their work.

• You are eager to test the limits of AI tools and already work confidently with them.
• You think like a designer and have been building with AI tools, since the work is directly for design teams.
• You like working side by side with designers and learning from their perspective.

What we are looking for

• 3 to 6 years of experience creating interactive work as a product designer, with more recent exposure to creative technology, interactive prototyping, or front-end development.
• Practical experience using agentic coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex to deliver real tools and products, not only demonstrations.
• The ability to take a vague problem, shape it clearly, and break it into buildable pieces that remain reliable in real use.
• Solid technical judgement to create secure, deployable solutions and work effectively with specialists in backend and infrastructure.
• A portfolio showing shipped work, not just design concepts.

This is a 1-year government project contract that can be renewed. The role is based in Singapore with a hybrid working setup.
