Role Overview
As a ServiceNow Technical Consultant contractor within Datacom’s ServiceNow Practice, you will be integral in designing, developing, and delivering robust ServiceNow solutions across domains including ITSM, CSM, HRSD, CMDB, Workflow Automation, and other platform functionalities. You will work on developing and deploying ServiceNow solutions aligned to client projects and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality ServiceNow workflows and modules across various areas.
- Engage with customers to assess business requirements and convert them into scalable ServiceNow architectures and configurations.
- Lead specific project streams such as requirements collection, design workshops, sprint planning, and technical implementation.
- Configure and customise ServiceNow components including forms, workflows, integrations, business rules, automation, and portals.
- Support installation, testing, deployment of ServiceNow solutions and coordinate User Acceptance Testing with clients.
- Identify risks, issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Create technical specifications, documentation, user guides, and architectural artifacts.
- Contribute to proposals, solution presentations, and pre-sales activities alongside ServiceNow Practice leaders.
- Keep updated on ServiceNow platform releases, best practices, automation techniques, and emerging capabilities.
- Adhere to health, safety, and security compliance standards in all tasks.
Work Environment
Although Datacom has offices across New Zealand, the preferred workplace location is one of their main centers including Wellington, Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton, or Tauranga. There is flexibility allowing a mix of in-person and remote work tailored to team preferences to support work-life balance.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum three years of experience in system design, integration, or technology consulting with proven hands-on ServiceNow platform expertise.
- Proficient in one or more ServiceNow modules or technical areas such as ITSM, CSM, CMDB, Automation, Flow Designer, or Integrations.
- Strong skills in analysis and consultation to translate business challenges into technical solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication capable of engaging both end-users and IT personnel.
- Ability to author technical specifications and configuration documentation effectively.
- Collaborative approach with aptitude for developing strong client relationships.
- Business acumen including understanding corporate structures and planning strategies.
- Knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations related to data communications and networking.
- Familiarity with contemporary DevOps tools and automation methodologies.
