Department Overview
This role is open exclusively to residents of Colorado and may fill multiple openings. It is situated within the Executive Director's Office of the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), which directs the strategic vision and internal operations for the department. CDHS collaborates with multiple government and community partners to empower Coloradans through innovative health and human services programs. The Strategy Office supports this mission by managing strategic planning and operational priorities across several teams.
Work Arrangement
This position operates on a hybrid schedule requiring at least two days in-office presence per week, with up to three days of remote work. Note that these arrangements may be subject to change.
Role Summary
The Content & Multimedia Specialist functions as the department's primary graphic designer and multimedia expert. They coordinate with various internal and external stakeholders including communications staff, state agencies, and vendors to produce engaging visual and multimedia content highlighting CDHS initiatives and personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Create innovative and effective designs, graphics, and visuals tailored to project needs.
- Manage multimedia content development and delivery across department platforms.
- Ensure compliance with state branding guidelines and maintain CDHS brand standards.
- Advise on layout and formatting for creative assets, adjusting files for specific audiences and media outlets.
- Deliver high-quality projects within timeline and budget constraints.
- Develop and sustain master templates for department materials such as presentations, flyers, and reports.
- Produce year-end departmental reports and assist with Joint Budget Committee presentations.
- Support communications efforts during legislative sessions through creation of diverse informational and promotional materials.
- Generate and manage social media content, handle scheduling and performance monitoring aimed at increasing engagement.
- Collaborate on multimedia projects involving website content, videography, photography, print, and broadcast media.
- Perform photography and videography tasks occasionally, including storyboarding and script development.
- Participate actively in team meetings and provide ongoing communications support.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least six years of professional experience in graphic design, multimedia creation, or related content development; or
- Equivalent combination of education in arts, communications, multimedia, or related fields plus relevant experience totaling six years.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite and other graphic design software.
- Experience with social media content creation and platform management.
- State service experience is valued and may be weighted in selection.
Conditions of Employment
