Role Overview
We are seeking a Communications Advisor for a fixed-term, full-time position lasting 12 months until October 2027. This role requires close collaboration across the organisation to create clear, effective communications that support council initiatives and inform the community. The position is primarily based in Mangawhai or Dargaville with options for working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic advice on communications and stakeholder engagement to staff and project teams.
- Design and implement communication strategies, content, and campaigns that resonate with target audiences.
- Draft media releases and assist in managing media inquiries.
- Create and manage content for digital channels including websites and social media platforms.
- Monitor media coverage and identify potential issues affecting the organisation.
- Support internal communications, organise events, and facilitate community engagement activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification in communications or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in communications, media, or marketing roles.
- Excellent written and editorial abilities suited for multiple platforms.
- Proficiency with digital communication tools and platforms.
- A deep understanding of diverse community needs and a dedication to authentic engagement.
