Role Overview

This full-time, on-site position based in Qatar focuses on facilitating smooth CNC operations by setting up and adjusting tooling on CNC machinery. Responsibilities include selecting suitable cutting tools, holders, and inserts matching job requirements, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, inspecting tools for wear or damage, conducting minor maintenance, and working closely with operators and supervisors to reduce downtime.

The role also involves interpreting technical blueprints and work orders, maintaining well-organized tool inventories, and documenting tooling parameters to enable consistent and optimized machining.

Qualifications

• Proficient in CNC tooling setup, including selection, installation, and adjustment of cutting tools, holders, and fixtures for various machining tasks.
• Skilled in reading and understanding engineering drawings, technical specs, and work instructions for machining and tooling.
• Knowledgeable about machining principles, materials (especially non-ferrous metals and plastics), cutting speeds, feed rates, and basic CNC programming concepts.
• Experienced with tool inspection and measurement using metrology instruments like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Committed to workplace safety, machine cleanliness, and adherence to quality control in an industrial setting.
• Basic computer proficiency for recording tooling data and managing manufacturing or inventory software.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with machine operators, engineers, and supervisors to troubleshoot tooling concerns.
• Previous hands-on experience as a CNC tool setter, tooling technician, or similar role in manufacturing, metalworking, or preferably recycling/industrial production.
• Holds a technical diploma, vocational certification, or equivalent practical experience in machining, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.
• Ready to work on-site in Qatar within a fast-paced, shift-driven production environment.
