Role Overview
NeuLife Rehabilitation, Inc. is hiring a Chief Human Resources Officer to shape and lead the company’s people strategy across multiple states and business lines. This executive position is fully remote, requires travel of 25% to 50% for multi-state operations, and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The role is a full-time exempt leadership position.
The CHRO will act as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, helping steer growth, workforce planning, compliance, employee engagement, and integration efforts after acquisitions. The company is looking for a senior HR leader who brings deep experience in mergers and acquisitions, multi-state employment law, organizational development, and managing high-performing HR teams in a fast-moving environment.
Primary Responsibilities
This role carries both strategic and operational ownership of the full human resources function, including hiring, employee relations, compensation and benefits, compliance, payroll oversight, HR technology, leadership development, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness.
Strategic Leadership
- Work closely with the CEO and executive team to define and execute the organization’s overall people strategy.
- Advise leadership on organizational structure, workforce planning, succession planning, and change initiatives.
- Ensure human capital plans support business objectives and expansion goals.
- Direct HR due diligence, staffing analysis, and integration work during mergers and acquisitions.
Mergers and Acquisitions
- Own the HR workstream for acquisitions, including due diligence, risk review, transition planning, and post-close integration.
- Assess structures, compensation plans, benefits, policies, and workforce risks during acquisition reviews.
- Build and execute integration plans that support cultural fit and operational efficiency.
- Help executive leaders scale operations and absorb newly acquired entities.
Compliance and Employee Relations
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements across several states.
- Oversee wage and hour practices, leave administration, investigations, labor law adherence, and related regulatory obligations.
- Create, update, and manage HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Lead employee relations efforts and advise on complex workplace issues.
- Ensure file compliance, credentialing compliance, and readiness for HR audits.
Talent Acquisition and Workforce Development
- Develop recruiting approaches that attract strong candidates for clinical, operational, and leadership roles.
- Build workforce planning systems that support expansion and growth.
- Design retention and engagement programs to strengthen workforce stability.
- Oversee onboarding and employee development initiatives.
- Establish leadership development and succession planning programs.
Compensation and Benefits
- Lead compensation strategy, market benchmarking, and pay structure design.
- Manage employee benefits programs with a focus on competitiveness and cost control.
- Work with brokers and vendors to review and improve benefit offerings.
- Guide annual benefit renewals and broader cost-containment efforts.
HR Operations and Technology
- Provide executive oversight of HRIS platforms and HR technology initiatives.
- Protect data accuracy, reporting quality, and operational efficiency.
- Oversee payroll administration and associated compliance needs.
- Develop HR dashboards, metrics, and workforce analytics.
Performance and Analytics
- Set and monitor KPIs covering hiring, retention, engagement, turnover, compliance, and workforce productivity.
- Deliver executive-ready reporting and workforce insights for decision-making.
- Use analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and organizational risks.
Qualifications
Required: A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related discipline; at least 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience; at least 5 years in a senior HR executive role; proven success in a multi-state environment; demonstrated mergers and acquisitions experience, including due diligence and post-acquisition integration; strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, wage and hour rules, leave laws, and HR compliance; hands-on experience across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and HR operations; experience managing HRIS and payroll; strong analytical, financial, and business judgment; and the ability to travel 25% to 50%.
Preferred: A master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; experience in healthcare, behavioral health, rehabilitation, or a multi-site service organization; SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or a similar senior HR certification; and prior work supporting rapid-growth, acquisition-led organizations.
