Job description

About Acuity Insights and Casper

At Acuity Insights, our mission is to unlock the full potential of every individual by enhancing higher education admissions to encompass more than just grades. We focus on assessing candidates' life experiences and soft skills through Casper, an innovative online situational judgment test. Casper evaluates qualities like empathy, resilience, ethical judgment, and communication to promote diversity and select students most equipped for success.

Role Overview

We are inviting New Zealand residents to join our Rater community as on-demand contractors. This flexible and remote role involves rating Casper test responses to assist partner institutions in making informed admissions decisions. It allows you to work on your own schedule from any location within New Zealand while engaging in impactful work that supplements your income.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo scientific, virtual training to become a certified Rater, including learning unbiased scoring methodologies.
  • Participate in ongoing refresher training and complete mandatory annual recertification to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Evaluate and score written and video responses from applicants by comparing them against scoring benchmarks.
  • Provide constructive feedback to help improve Casper’s test content, platform, and processes.

Success Foundations

  • Maintain steady engagement and demonstrate professionalism throughout your work sessions.
  • Pursue continual skill development through trainings and feedback activities.
  • Communicate effectively, responding promptly to surveys and feedback requests.
  • Approach evaluations with empathy and fairness, understanding the significance of your assessments.
  • Stay mindful of biases and commit to integrity by applying objective and equitable judgment.

Compensation

Payments for completed work, including rating and training, are processed monthly via Airwallex. While there is no guaranteed minimum workload, a quarterly testing calendar helps estimate potential income and allows you to select your preferred work times.

Qualification Criteria

  • Must be a New Zealand citizen residing within New Zealand.
  • Own a desktop or laptop to complete work.
  • Not planning to enroll in any academic program using Casper within the next 2-3 years.
  • Demonstrate strong written communication skills to clearly explain scoring decisions and raise concerns.
  • Possess soft skills such as communication, self-awareness, professionalism, and empathy.

Application Steps

  1. Submit an online application form with qualifying questions.
  2. If eligible, complete a Mini-Casper and a reading comprehension test to assess your alignment with key soft skills.
  3. Participate in a one-on-one video interview with a Rating Team member for information verification and Q&A.
  4. Finish paid, comprehensive online rater training within five business days.
  5. After successful completion of the program and assessments, become a certified Casper Test Rater and begin scoring.

Training Details

The comprehensive training involves eight modules covering rating principles, quality assurance, and implicit bias mitigation. Interactive exercises and knowledge checks ensure understanding and skill mastery. Certification requires passing a calibration assessment demonstrating alignment with established scoring benchmarks.
