Role Overview

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, the UK's largest specialist orthopaedic hospital renowned internationally, is seeking a part-time Band 6 Diagnostic Radiographer with general X-ray expertise. This role requires a HCPC registered radiographer with at least two years of NHS experience who will primarily be based at the Bolsover Street site with some rotation to the Stanmore location.

Work Environment and Equipment

The Bolsover Street department includes two general X-ray rooms, open weekdays from 8am to 6:30pm, while the Stanmore site offers three general X-ray rooms, a fluoroscopy unit, five portable ward machines, a DXA scanner, 15 theatres with image intensifiers, plus O-Arm, Cios Spin, EOS, and HiRise Ped CT scanners. Post-probation, the role entails lone working responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate across all X-ray department areas, primarily at Bolsover Street with periodic shifts at Stanmore.
• Deliver superior quality diagnostic imaging while prioritizing patient care and safety.
• Support orthopaedic imaging within outpatient, theatre, fluoroscopy, inpatient, and DXA units.
• Function as a senior member of staff, aiding in the education of students and junior radiographers.
• Collaborate effectively with radiologists, radiographers, clinical support staff, and diverse patient groups to ensure smooth imaging service operations.
• Efficiently manage workload by applying specialized knowledge and adapting imaging techniques for complex cases.
• Utilize and develop proficiency in the patient information system Epic after training.
