Automobile Electrical Design Engineer - Wiring Harness & Schematic Design

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer specializing in the automotive sector responsible for creating, reviewing, and sustaining electrical schematics for automotive and industrial products. This role ensures all designs meet established standards while supporting development stages from conceptualization through production.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update electrical schematic diagrams to meet product requirements.
• Draft wiring harness layouts and detailed electrical circuit drawings.
• Design electrical system architectures for upcoming products.
• Select appropriate components, including relays, fuses, connectors, switches, and sensors.
• Generate Bill of Materials and prepare comprehensive engineering documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Testing teams to streamline development.
• Assist in prototype fabrication and validation processes.
• Manage Engineering Change Notices and Requests effectively.
• Investigate and diagnose electrical problems through root cause analysis.
• Ensure adherence to both customer and internal design standards.
• Conduct thorough design quality reviews and oversee drawing releases.
• Provide technical support during production phases and testing cycles.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in electrical schematic creation and wiring harness design.
• Ability to develop detailed circuit diagrams and electrical architecture.
• Expertise in wire routing practices.
• Competence in preparing Bill of Materials and engineering documentation.
• Experience with design validation techniques and DFMEA methodologies.
• Familiarity with Engineering Change Management processes (ECN/ECR).
• Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Skilled in root cause analysis approaches.
• Working knowledge of SAP systems.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must hold a B.Tech or B.E. degree in any engineering discipline or possess a diploma in any engineering specialization.
