Associate Designer

About the Role

BILA77 is looking for a highly imaginative and trend-savvy Associate Designer to contribute to the creation of our Junior market brand, Patrons of Peace, as well as our Young Contemporary apparel collections. This position is tailored for individuals passionate about fashion, meticulous about details, and eager to thrive in a dynamic contemporary clothing sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design process and development of seasonal collections from initial concept to final production.
• Conduct research on fashion trends, color palettes, textiles, prints, trims, and industry competition.
• Create seasonal concepts and technical design documentation specifically for Patrons of Peace.
• Design original print ideas, direct artwork creation, and manage print layout development.
• Collaborate closely with manufacturers to oversee print sample approvals, strike-offs, and color accuracy.
• Produce and update CAD designs, technical packages, and visual presentation boards.
• Assist in fittings and effectively communicate design modifications to the technical design team.
• Maintain and organize design documents, fabric and print libraries, sample tracking systems.
• Engage in market research activities to stay informed on consumer preferences and market changes.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2 to 3 years of design experience in the fashion industry, ideally within Junior or Young Contemporary apparel sectors.
• Strong knowledge of current fashion trends, color, prints, patterns, and customer tastes.
• Skilled in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop software programs.
• Excellent sketching, CAD proficiency, and a refined sense of color coordination.
• Understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and printing methods.
• Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
• A collaborative, positive attitude and the ability to work well within a team.
• Ability to juggle several projects simultaneously under time constraints.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience communicating with overseas suppliers and managing apparel development vendors.
• Familiarity with print production and development processes.
• Background in womenswear design.
• Degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary of $75,000 per year plus performance bonus. Benefits package includes medical and dental insurance coverage.

• Minimum of 3 years’ design experience.
• At least 3 years working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
