About the Role
Foxglove Communications is on the lookout for a dynamic Assistant Vice President who has a passion for hospitality and thrives in high-energy, relationship-focused environments. Situated in New York City, this hybrid position requires regular onsite participation for client meetings, media engagements, and events. As part of a small yet mighty team of strategists and storytellers, you will contribute to impactful campaigns for nationally recognized clients transforming the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as a culture ambassador both inside and outside the agency, enhancing marketing and business development efforts while showcasing exceptional client servicing and media engagement.
- Manage client portfolios independently, providing strategic guidance, overseeing project managers, and ensuring deliverables meet company standards.
- Lead strategic planning, communications execution, pitching, team mentoring, delegation, and client reporting.
- Ensure client satisfaction and cultivate strong, ongoing relationships.
- Serve on the Leadership Team contributing to internal discussions, resources development, and culture cultivation.
- Mentor and support direct reports and broader management team via coaching and meetings.
- Maintain and build relationships with editorial media, aiding the team in media list development to achieve results.
- Support thought leadership initiatives including panel submissions, media appearances, awards, and agency promotions.
- Drive performance reviews and foster growth for direct reports, addressing issues proactively in coordination with management.
- Contribute to new business efforts by participating in pitch meetings, proposal development, contracts, and client onboarding.
- Represent the agency at industry events and client festivals to strengthen partnerships.
- Track media awards and festivals, ensuring clients and agency participation while maintaining related documentation.
- Monitor and immerse in media outlets and trends relevant to hospitality to keep media lists effective.
- Lead PR campaigns and activations such as media appointments, interviews, press trips, and events across the U.S.
- Organize events including guest lists, invitations, and scheduling.
- Create, edit, and distribute press materials while coaching client teams on communication materials.
- Oversee quality control for agendas, press kits, websites, and pitch content.
- Manage account reporting and communicate results transparently.
- Serve as primary contact for nurturing client relationships and managing business deliverables.
- Develop creative ideas for campaigns, special events, and strategic partnerships.
- Identify and propose solutions to client challenges proactively.
- Create trusted collaborative relationships across peers, clients, and media channels.
- Lead candidate interviews and oversee onboarding processes.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years working in PR agencies with a focus on hospitality.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Strong enthusiasm and knowledge of hospitality and travel industries.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and developing teams.
- Established and active media contacts within hospitality.
- Demonstrated success in pitching and obtaining media coverage.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work autonomously.
- Ability to maintain urgency and ownership in responsibilities.
- Strong presentation skills and collaborative approach to client engagement.
- Willingness to travel and visit clients regularly to maintain media relations.
- Experienced in steering media relations and thought leadership campaigns.
- Excellent project and time management capabilities.
- Meticulous attention to detail in all tasks.
- Availability to occasionally work evenings and weekends for events.
- Proficient with relevant tools such as Google Suite, MuckRack, Asana, and social media platforms; past social media management experience is advantageous.
