Job Purpose
The role of Assistant Manager - EHS is critical for fostering a proactive safety culture and advancing the Safety Management System within the solar manufacturing sites. The role involves performing comprehensive EHS inspections and audits, identifying environmental impacts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading initiatives to uphold and improve workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote and embed a robust safety culture among all staff and contractors in the manufacturing site.
- Enhance and refine the Safety Management System to effectively evaluate and mitigate safety hazards.
- Carry out routine EHS inspections and audits to verify adherence to safety norms, legal regulations, and company policies.
- Identify environmental aspects related to operational activities and develop strategies to reduce environmental risks and improve sustainability.
- Ensure that all occupational health, safety, and environmental practices comply with applicable laws, industry standards, and internal requirements.
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations by determining root causes and enforcing corrective measures to avoid repetition.
- Create and implement training programs covering safety protocols, hazard recognition, emergency responses, and environmental protection.
- Champion ongoing safety performance improvements by promoting best practices derived from past incidents and audit findings.
Key Stakeholders
- Internal: Project Managers, Operations Managers, Safety Committee members.
- External: Contractors, subcontractors, regulatory agencies, and local community representatives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field.
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years of professional experience in construction or industrial safety management.
