About the Role

The Christchurch Engine Centre is expanding its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations for the Pratt & Whitney GTF™ engine in New Zealand. We are recruiting multiple qualified Aircraft Tradespeople at NZQA Level 4 or equivalent, offering permanent, full-time positions based onsite in Christchurch. Applicants from aviation, mechanical, heavy diesel, automotive, electrical, or related trade backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate at designated workstations in Assembly or Disassembly after completing induction training.
  • Utilise various tools, machinery, and equipment to conduct detailed engine assembly, disassembly, inspection, and maintenance.
  • Perform engine work in accordance with manufacturer’s manuals and specific customer requirements.
  • Accurately interpret engine manuals and comply fully with work instructions to uphold quality and precision.
  • Meet set deadlines and milestones ensuring timely delivery for testing and return to customers without compromising safety or quality.
  • Execute SAP transactions and update work orders accordingly in the SAP system.
  • Keep detailed records of all activities performed, adhering to quality and compliance standards.
  • Comply with all health and safety regulations during work execution.

Candidate Profile

  • Trade qualification at NZQA Level 4 or equivalent.
  • At least three years of practical experience in aerospace, automotive, mechanical engineering, or closely related sectors.
  • Proven ability to follow technical instructions and processes precisely.
  • Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, lifting, kneeling, and twisting as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communicator and cooperative team member.
  • Dedicated to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Willingness to work fortnightly rotating day/night shifts and available for overtime when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Engine MRO or aerospace industry settings.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engine manuals.

Work Schedule and Conditions

Working hours follow a fortnightly rotating shift pattern: one week of day shifts from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and one week of night shifts from 3:45 pm to 12:15 am. Overtime work is welcomed and will be compensated at increased rates.
