Role Overview
We seek a seasoned Aftersales Manager with a strong customer focus to lead our service and parts departments. Your responsibilities include optimizing workshop usage, enhancing parts sales, maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction, and achieving financial objectives within the aftersales domain. You will serve as a key link between sales teams and workshop operations, ensuring a smooth service experience for our business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily functioning of the service workshop, body shop, and parts storage facilities.
- Plan workshop capacity, schedule technicians, and streamline workflows to reduce vehicle downtime.
- Ensure adherence to manufacturer standards, safety guidelines, and German TÜV regulations.
- Meet revenue and profit goals related to aftersales, including labor sales, parts margins, and warranty claim recoveries.
- Develop budgets, manage cost controls, and analyze financial data to identify growth opportunities.
- Oversee warranty claim submissions with manufacturers to maximize reimbursements.
- Serve as primary contact for key fleet customers to handle service issues, maintenance schedules, and repair planning.
- Proactively reach out to customers for maintenance scheduling and issue resolution.
- Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and professionally.
- Lead and motivate a team comprising service advisors, master technicians, and parts experts.
- Conduct performance evaluations and determine training needs, including new technologies and truck models.
- Manage parts inventory levels to ensure availability while controlling carrying costs.
- Collaborate with the parts manager to optimize stock aligned with the local fleet.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Possess 3-5 years of aftersales management experience, preferably in the automotive or commercial vehicle dealership environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicle systems, workshop operations, and warranty processes is essential.
- Fluent in German at a native or business level (C1/C2); professional English proficiency is advantageous.
- Experienced with dealer management systems (e.g., ADP, Dextra, SAP) and skilled in MS Office tools.
- Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills with a customer-oriented and hands-on approach.
- Holding a "Kfz-Meister" (Master Craftsman) or "Techniker" (Technician) certification is highly preferred, alternatively a Betriebswirt with relevant experience.
- Valid EU driving license required.
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Confirmed leadership capabilities in aftersales or service management within automotive or commercial vehicle sectors.
- Fluent German language skills; English is a helpful addition.
- Comprehensive understanding of workshop processes, parts logistics, and B2B customer service.
- Certification as "Kfz-Meister" or "Techniker" or equivalent management background.
- Effective problem-solving skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure.
- Experience as a Service Advisor or Workshop Manager in the vehicle industry is an asset.
- Strong commercial insight paired with technical knowledge.
- Established connections within regional logistics and transportation sectors.
