Role Overview
The company is looking for a meticulous and organized Accountant/Bookkeeper to oversee financial records, guarantee precise bookkeeping, and assist with daily accounting functions. This role entails maintaining financial transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and securing adherence to accounting standards and applicable laws.
Key Duties
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain logs.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable processes.
- Reconcile bank, credit card, and vendor accounts regularly.
- Compile monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Process payroll and keep accurate payroll documentation if applicable.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with budget creation, forecasting, and management of cash flow.
- Support audit procedures by generating required documentation.
- Track expenses and identify any discrepancies promptly.
- Keep financial data confidential and secure.
- Ensure all accounting policies and legislative requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the business manager to monitor the monthly cash flow forecast.
Qualifications and Experience
- Holding a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting certifications such as AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent are favorable.
- Proven track record in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Familiarity with accounting software like Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office suite.
- Comprehensive understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Two to five years of relevant bookkeeping or accounting work experience preferred.
