About the Role

Join the dynamic Water and Wastewater Treatment team in Mackay as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. This permanent full-time position plays a crucial part in maintaining and delivering essential water and sewage services across the Mackay region. The role involves managing the operation of multiple water and wastewater schemes to ensure the delivery of top-quality potable water.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain water treatment plants, including disinfection and critical process systems.
• Ensure potable water quality meets Australian guidelines through efficient treatment processes.
• Manage and monitor water supply and sewerage schemes effectively.
• Participate in after-hours work through on-call and call-out responsibilities across the region.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Current Queensland 'C' class driver's license.
• Certificate III in Water Industry Operations - Water stream.
• General Construction Safety White Card.
• Self-contained breathing apparatus certification.
• Proven experience operating water treatment plant assets.
• Sound knowledge of water treatment processes such as coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection.
• Familiarity with groundwater systems and treatment procedures.
• Current First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.

Additional Information
