Warehouse General Manager

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations of a Holman Logistics facility, ensuring excellent financial outcomes, high service standards, and effective team leadership. Collaborating closely with customers and company leadership, this individual sets strategic direction, fosters continuous improvement, boosts revenue growth, manages costs, and consistently delivers outstanding customer satisfaction. A strong emphasis is placed on cultivating a safety-first, high-performance culture and developing leadership throughout the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe, accident-free, and healthy work environment that meets legal and company requirements.
• Ensure all business operations and personnel practices comply with relevant laws and company policies.
• Lead daily third-party logistics warehouse operations to consistently exceed shipping and receiving quality and accuracy expectations.
• Maintain rapid and positive responses to customer concerns to proactively resolve issues.
• Engage in daily communication with the customer to understand their service needs and integrate appropriate processes to meet these needs.
• Develop and implement business strategies, budgets, and goals in collaboration with corporate and customer stakeholders.
• Regularly review operational progress against plans, budgets, and objectives with all relevant parties.
• Analyze financial and operational data to guide decision-making, find growth opportunities, and reduce costs.
• Monitor expenses and quality control to sustain and improve profitability.
• Recommend capital improvements in equipment to enhance operational efficiency and service levels.
• Partner with company and customer leaders to develop and enforce policies, goals, and procedures.
• Manage daily facility activities, ensuring operational alignment with corporate directives.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging Lean and Six Sigma methodologies where relevant.
• Develop and evaluate operational processes and procedures to assess effectiveness and productivity standards.
• Supervise inventory management, quality assurance, and damage control efforts.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures by all staff.
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient operational environments and conduct routine staff meetings.
• Provide leadership through coaching, mentoring, training, and team development.
• Oversee personnel selection and performance evaluations while managing disciplinary processes and addressing workplace conflicts.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's Degree is required; knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification is advantageous.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Advanced proficiency with computers, including strong skills in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word) and the capability to learn internal systems.
• Forklift certification is preferred.

Physical and Work Environment

• Work involves both office and warehouse settings with varying temperature and noise levels, and the use of material-handling equipment.

• Travel up to 40% may be necessary to visit multiple facilities and client locations.
