Role Overview

The Ward Clerk will contribute to the smooth operation of the busy Cardiac Ward by offering support and assistance to patients, their families, hospital staff, and visitors. This position demands an individual who excels in managing a fast-paced administrative environment with flexibility, strong interpersonal communication, and effective time management capabilities.

Key Duties

• Manage patient admission and discharge procedures ensuring optimal bed allocation and usage.
• Handle all incoming and outgoing communications for the ward efficiently.
• Provide prompt, clear, and accurate responses to inquiries from patients, visitors, colleagues, and other departments.
• Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and hospital personnel to ensure patients have a positive and seamless experience during their stay.
• Maintain and organize patient admission documentation and clinical records accurately.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

• At least two years of experience in administrative roles.
• Excellent communication skills combined with a strong orientation towards customer service.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, maintaining high accuracy in data entry.
• Effective organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Possession of a Certificate in Medical Terminology is advantageous.
• A professional manner with strong interpersonal aptitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adeptness at multitasking.
• Motivated to learn and quick to understand new concepts.
• Experience with Patient Information Systems such as Meditech is required; familiarity with hospital mainframe systems is a plus.
