Role Summary
The Voyage Manager will join the Commercial Operations Department located at the Cork office. This role contributes to ensuring that operational standards are maintained to the highest levels while supporting voyage procurement and execution. Supporting the West Team Lead, the manager will handle commercial operational tasks mainly for activities west of the Suez Canal.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the chartering team to understand contract terms and voyage demands for successful pre-fixture planning.
- Create efficient voyage plans by considering vessel capabilities, cargo compatibility, and optimized routes.
- Oversee voyage operations including vessel performance, port activities, bunkering, and cargo handling to comply with charter party agreements while maximizing operational efficiency.
- Identify and proactively mitigate risks such as delays, adverse weather, or vessel technical problems through contingency strategies that minimize expenses and ensure punctuality.
- Maintain robust communication channels with charterers, brokers, agents, and other stakeholders by providing updates, addressing concerns, and building trust.
- Analyze voyage expenses and data, using insights to drive continuous improvements in voyage planning and overall profitability in collaboration with commercial teams.
Required Skills and Experience
- Possession of a degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Logistics, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience as a Voyage Manager or relevant seafaring background is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to work autonomously as well as cooperatively within a dynamic team environment.
