VMC Programmer cum Shop Floor Production Supervisor

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned VMC Programmer who can independently oversee programming, setups, production planning, and operations for multiple VMC machines. The role demands ensuring adherence to production goals, maintaining quality standards, optimizing machine use, and guaranteeing punctual deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and refine VMC CNC programs using controllers such as Fanuc, Siemens, Brother, or equivalents.
• Manage programming tasks for several VMC machines catering to diverse component specifications.
• Interpret engineering blueprints, GD&T standards, and machining requirements accurately.
• Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, speeds, feeds, and machining methods.
• Execute machine setup, tool offsets, initial test runs, and first-piece inspections.
• Plan and supervise production activities based on daily and weekly targets.
• Distribute jobs and assign operators to maximize VMC machine utilization.
• Track and analyze cycle times, defect rates, reworks, overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), and productivity metrics.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to machining, tooling, dimensional errors, and programming.
• Enhance program efficiency to reduce cycle times while extending tool longevity and boosting productivity.
• Collaborate effectively with Quality Assurance, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Production departments.
• Maintain discipline in 5S standards, safety protocols, machine upkeep, and procedural compliance.
• Keep accurate records of CNC programs, tooling data, setup documentation, and production logs.
• Provide training and mentorship to VMC operators and junior programming staff.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Proven hands-on expertise in VMC programming, setup, and managing production operations.
• Comprehensive understanding of G-codes, M-codes, CNC tooling, fixtures, and machining techniques.
• Experience working with Fanuc, Siemens, or Brother CNC controllers is desirable.
• Familiarity with CNC milling, drilling, tapping, boring, and contouring operations.
• Capacity to independently manage multiple machines and production priorities simultaneously.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S practices, Kaizen, and OEE metrics is an advantage.

Educational Qualification

ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or related technical fields.
