Role Overview
As a Video Editor focused on paid social media, you will transform raw footage, creator content, and captured clips into engaging advertisements tailored for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and X. This position demands creativity and initiative: you will design your own hooks, edits, and angles rather than following pre-set storyboards, emphasizing engaging cuts that captivate viewers and drive conversions.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit diverse video assets into multiple ad formats: 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 for Stories, Reels, and Feed placements.
- Develop innovative hooks and maintain tight pacing to maximize viewer attention and prompt action.
- Create original concepts alongside producing numerous iterations to support ongoing performance testing.
- Use native-to-feed tactics such as dynamic captions, pattern interrupts, on-screen text, and motion graphics.
- Analyze performance data to refine edits, doubling down on effective cuts and patterns.
- Manage a fast and organized workflow to ensure constant availability of fresh creative content for testing.
Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive portfolio demonstrating experience editing short-form video ads for live Meta and/or TikTok campaigns.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro; strong skills in After Effects and CapCut for motion graphics and rapid editing.
- Deep understanding of direct-response video marketing focusing on hooks, pacing, and engaging edits that drive results.
- Ability to quickly produce large volumes of quality ad variants at speed.
- Self-motivated and proactive, bringing ideas and spotting opportunities independently.
- Expertise editing native short-form video formats for platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
Preferred Experience
- Background with consumer subscription applications, paid social growth agencies, or DTC/ecommerce brands.
- Familiarity reading and interpreting performance metrics like hook rate, hold rate, and click-through rate to optimize creative.
- Experience integrating AI tools to streamline the creative workflow.
- A passion for music and cultural trends.
Compensation & Additional Information
This contracting opportunity offers an hourly payment ranging from $70 to $90 based on experience, with anticipated 20 to 40 working hours per week. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
