Vice President, Project Management

Position Overview

The Vice President of Project Management leads the development and execution of the company's project management strategy. This senior leadership role involves overseeing the enterprise project governance framework, managing the project portfolio, directing major project deliveries, setting execution standards, coordinating resources, controlling risks, and fostering project team growth to ensure strategic projects are delivered timely and with high quality and efficiency.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop corporate project management strategies and annual plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Design and implement an Enterprise Project Management Framework including governance standards, processes, and management policies.
• Lead the management of the project portfolio by evaluating priorities, balancing investments, resource allocation, and enhancing project return on investment.
• Drive delivery and execution of major company projects by monitoring scope, schedule, cost, and quality to ensure on-target outcomes.
• Establish and maintain a robust Project Management Office (PMO) governance system, promoting best practices and standardized methodologies for enhanced maturity.
• Create and operate a comprehensive project risk management system, including risk identification, response strategies, early warning mechanisms, and mitigation to minimize failure risks.
• Develop a project performance management system defining KPIs, analyzing schedule, cost, and quality data to support management decisions.
• Coordinate cross-functional resource planning and allocation across business units including product, R&D, operations, sales, and finance to improve execution efficiency.
• Lead the digital transformation of project management by building platforms, optimizing processes, and utilizing AI and big data for automated monitoring and increased transparency.
• Oversee management of large-scale client projects ensuring alignment and coordination among sales, delivery, and client-facing teams for improved satisfaction and long-term relationships.
• Build and maintain a high-performing project management team and organizational structure, including talent development systems and competency standards for project managers and PMO staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Operations Management, or related fields.
• MBA or Master’s degree in Project Management or related discipline preferred.
• Over 25 years of experience in project management, including 15+ years managing large-scale project teams.
• Proven experience establishing enterprise-level PMOs and leading complex strategic projects across multiple departments.
• Industry experience preferred in technology, healthcare, finance, manufacturing, software, or enterprise services.
