Position Overview
The Vice President (VP) of Procurement holds the responsibility for the strategic and operational oversight of the entire procurement system within the company. This executive role covers global procurement strategy, supplier engagement, supply chain enhancement, cost management, risk mitigation, and overseeing procurement activities on an international scale. The VP ensures a consistent supply of superior quality and competitively priced raw materials and products, thereby strengthening the company's global jewelry market supply chain advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop medium- to long-term procurement strategies and establish robust procurement management systems.
- Enhance and optimize the global procurement footprint and supply chain architecture.
- Promote integration of both domestic and international procurement assets while broadening global procurement operations.
- Create and implement global supplier development and procurement strategies.
- Build, evaluate, and sustain collaborative relationships with core suppliers and strategic partners to form a dependable and effective supplier ecosystem.
- Continuously improve procurement procedures to boost operational efficiency and supply continuity.
- Cultivate and maintain durable relationships with suppliers through commercial negotiations, contract management, and performance assessment.
- Advance supplier quality, delivery reliability, and partnership depth, striving for long-term strategic alliances.
- Coordinate efforts across procurement, supply chain, production, quality, research & development, and operations to ensure alignment with corporate goals.
- Facilitate the standardization, digitization, and efficient execution of procurement processes.
- Analyze global procurement trends, supply risks, and related data to devise cost-optimization strategies and elevate overall procurement efficiency and profitability.
- Identify procurement and supply chain risks, establishing early warning and contingency systems to uphold compliance and uninterrupted procurement operations.
Qualifications
- Between 20 and 25 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of 8 years serving in senior leadership roles at or above director level.
- Preferred experience in procurement models, supply chain systems, and supplier management within the jewelry or luxury goods sectors.
- International procurement, global supply chain, or cross-border procurement exposure is advantageous.
- Strong strategic planning aptitude, negotiation skills, supplier relationship management, communication, coordination, and execution capabilities.
