About the Role

This role involves working within a Portfolio Valuation team tasked with valuing alternative investment assets, such as illiquid securities held by hedge funds, private equity funds, and fund of funds. You will apply industry-standard valuation approaches to complex and illiquid assets spanning diverse industries and geographical locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and refine financial models including discounted cash flow, market multiples, transaction comparables, and option pricing techniques.
  • Conduct thorough valuation analyses on a variety of non-liquid investments across multiple sectors worldwide using accepted valuation theories.
  • Engage directly with clients to collect and verify data critical to deliverables through meetings and interviews.
  • Collaborate closely with client management to foster and sustain professional relationships.
  • Identify new potential projects and communicate opportunities with internal management, preparing engagement documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations summarizing analysis and findings.
  • Attend industry conferences and events to expand expertise and stay current with trends in alternative assets.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or an MBA.
  • Have at least four years of hands-on experience designing and reviewing valuation and financial models such as DCF, comparable company analysis, commodity contract models, and intangible asset valuation.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and effective communication, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
