Role Overview

IPL is seeking a Vice President of Operations to guide and strengthen the operations function during a period of growth. This is a senior leadership position with responsibility across day-to-day operations, as well as for initiatives that raise efficiency, scalability, and overall performance. A major part of the role is to deeply examine current ways of working, map critical workflows from start to finish, and lead the redesign or improvement of those processes so the company can operate more efficiently with the right systems and technology in place. The role is highly hands-on and execution-focused. It reports directly to the President.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the operations function across the full lifecycle, including policy administration and case management, while defining service standards, performance measures, and clear accountability.

Take ownership of process and technology transformation by documenting core workflows, pinpointing inefficiencies, and redesigning operations to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability. Drive the evaluation and rollout of tools, automation, and systems that reduce manual work and make operations more effective.

Design a scalable operating model with repeatable processes, well-defined ownership, and metrics that allow the business to grow without a matching rise in complexity or cost.

Oversee operational support for client investment activity and ensure a strong standard of responsiveness, precision, and client service.

Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team while setting clear expectations, building accountability, and encouraging continuous improvement.

Operational efficiency, turnaround time, and accuracy show measurable improvement.

Technology and systems actively support the operating model.

Operational friction is reduced and throughput improves.

The team operates with discipline and high performance.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate has led operations in life insurance, annuities, PPLI, or a related financial services environment.

They should have a proven history of improving and redesigning processes to deliver measurable business outcomes.

Experience implementing operational systems, workflow tools, or automation is important.

Strong leadership ability, the confidence to drive execution, and the capacity to lead change are essential.

A practical, systems-minded approach is needed, along with comfort in a lean and fast-moving environment.

Working knowledge of investments is required to effectively support a client-facing function.
